Clinical Applications of Portale Cautery Pen Disposable
External eye surgery Meibomian gland cyst excision, eyelid inversion trichiasis correction, ptosis, strabismus correction; eyelid mass excision, blepharoplasty cosmetic surgery, nasal dacryocystorhinostomy, etc.
Conjunctival area surgery such as pterygium excision, conjunctival cyst excision.
Small vessel hemostasis (eg, conjunctiva, connective tissue) in routine ophthalmic surgery.
Small-scale electrical resection and hemostasis in stye, chalazion surgery.
Incision and hemostasis in ocular trauma surgery.
Eye muscle surgery (strabismus conjunctiva incision, muscle surface vascular coagulation, muscle incision separation and hemostasis......).
Incision and hemostasis during nasolacrimal duct surgery.
Advantage Category | Portale Cautery Pen Disposable | High-Frequency Electrosurgical Electrode |
---|---|---|
Structural Advantage | Only the size of a marker pen, lightweight and wireless, convenient for surgical operation. | General electrode handles are about 2.5–3 kg, heavy and wired, making operations inconvenient and requiring a dedicated power source. |
Usage Environment Advantage | Simple structure with built-in battery, no need for mains power supply, suitable for various environments and stable operation. | Requires a high-frequency power generator, and stable work depends on the power source environment. |
Working Precision Advantage | Working tip accuracy deviation ≤0.05 mm, suitable for surgical sites requiring high precision. | Accuracy depends on the electrode tip design; in some cases the deviation may be larger and less suitable for extremely precise operations. |
User Group Advantage | No restrictions on the type of user; can be operated freely. | Requires professional evaluation before use to ensure operator qualification and safety. |
Accidental Injury Advantage | Powered by DC 1.5–3V dry batteries, no leakage current, safe to use. | Requires 220V mains power, with potential risk of electric leakage; accidental burns may occur if the grounding pad is not properly connected. |
Instructions for Use:
To achieve optimal electrocautery and hemostasis, please select the correct type.
When using, remove the protective cap, gently press the switch, and the power will activate. The heating wire at the tip will instantly heat up. At this point, apply the heated wire to the tiny blood vessels in a point-contact manner for coagulation and hemostasis. Release the switch after use to cut off the power.
In ophthalmic surgery, the scope of use is limited to eyelids and tissues around the eyeball. (Direct contact with the eyeball is strictly prohibited.)
